ARTI in Africa!!

ARTI truely spread its wings internationally earlier this year with a trip to eastern Africa. Certified Athletic Therapist, Declan Monaghan, travelled to Kenya in early January in a therapist role, on behalf of International Athlete Agent, Mr Ricky Simms and his London based athletics agency, PACE Sports Management.

Based in the western regions of Eldoret and Iten - area's synonymous with World distance running dominance - the Meath native worked within the PACE camp of 20-30 world class middle and long distance athletes.

The DCU Athletic Therapy and Training graduate undertook injury assessments, treatments and rehabilitation programming for all athletes over the four week period, in their preperation for the Kenyan National Cross-Country Championships. Athletes treated, included Commonwealth Games, World Championship and Olympic Games medalists as well as a number of world record holders.
